Kathua showing significant improvement in Covid situation; Recovery rate touches 94.58%: DC Rahul Yadav

KATHUA, JUNE 04: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rahul Yadav today said that the district is showing significant improvement in Covid situation with recovery rate touching 94.58%.

Briefing media persons about overall Covid situation and   post lockdown scenario in the district, the DC said the Bed Occupancy Rate in different hospitals and Covid Care Centres has also decreased considerably.

At present there are 344 active covid cases in the district, of which 50 patients are in Covid hospitals, 34 patients in Covid Care Centres, while 260 covid are under home isolation, he said.

To ensure strict enforcement of Covid Appropriate Behaviors amid partial ease in restrictions, he said block level teams have been constituted to keep check in the markets and other public places on a regular interval.

Regarding vaccination,  the DC said three Medical blocks viz Parole, Hiranagar and Basohli have achieved over 85%   vaccination targets, while  efforts are being made to speed up the inoculation drives in Billawar and Bani blocks  to cover the targeted population in stipulated time.

Rural Covid Care Centres have been made functional in all 257 Panchayats, and with the active participation of PRIs, these centers are being equipped with required medical infrastructure to  provide treatment and isolation facility in rural areas.

The DC called for being more careful after ease in restrictions. He appealed to the people of Kathua not to lower guard and adhere to the Covid related guidelines like maintaining hand hygiene, wearing masks and observing social distancing to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
