J&K Health workers announce one hour strike on May 11 to press for demands

Jammu, Apr 29 : The health workers of Jammu and Kashmir announce to go for an one hour strike on May 11 to press their long pending demands including DPC of all categories of posts in the health department.

News agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has learnt that a meeting of Jammu Kashmir Medical Federation Jammu was held in the office chamber of federation under the chairmanship of Sushil Sudan, State President, to press the long pending burning demands of conducting DPC of all categories of posts in health department.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that one hour protest against the higher authorities, especially Director Health Services Jammu will be held on May 11 from 4.30 to 5.30 PM in front of Director Health Services office Jammu.

All the speakers in the meeting strongly condemned the deliberate delaying of DPC (Promotion) by Director Health Services Jammu. In this Covid -19 pandemic situation all the staff of the health department is fighting this infectious virus with best of their capacity but instead of appreciation by the higher authorities all categories of health staff are deprived of their genuine service benefits.

As the Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Jammu is declared designated Covid hospital and the health staff discharging their duties may be provided accommodations at par with their counterparts of Medical College Jammu as done previously.

The leaders of various associations also urged the government to release Rs 50 lakh insurance benefits to front line warriors who laid down their life during duties.
