Siliguri, Apr 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday blamed Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Supremo (TMC) Mamata Banerjee for instigating people against central forces.

Addressing a public meeting here, Mr Modi said, This violence can’t protect you from the 10 years of your ill-governance.

I am saddened at what happened in Cooch Behar, the Prime Minister said. What happened in Cooch Behar is very saddening. My sympathies are with the families of those who died, I condole their demise. Didi and her goons are perturbed, seeing the people’s support for BJP. She has stooped to this level as she can see her chair slipping away, Mr Modi alleged.

“Didi, this violence, tactics of instigating people to attack the Security Forces, the tactics of obstructing the polling process will not protect you, he said.

“I would like to tell Didi, TMC and their goons clearly that their ways will not be allowed to work in Bengal. I urge the Election Commission to take strict action against the accused of the incident in Cooch Behar, Mr Modi said.

The Prime Minister said, Didi never got angry with ‘tolabaj’ (extortionists) but she’s livid at security forces protecting democratic rights of people.

At least four people were killed in Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar district after CISF allegedly opened fire at them after coming under attack amid voting for the fourth phase of Assembly elections in West Bengal.

A first time voter, identified as Ananda Burman, aged 18-20, was also killed when a group of miscreants armed with guns and bombs attacked him in voters’ line at Paglapir booth under Sitalkuchi in Cooh Behar disttrict, even as the 4th phase polling for 44 assembly seats in five districts of West Bengal was underway.
