No need of road widening of Aripal-Ganai Gund road in Tral: Altaf Thakur

Says road stretch of 1.5 km only, R&B officials pitching for road widening to face music, road already wide-enough, any move will render many families homeless, seeks LG Sinha’s intervention
Tral, March 27: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Spokesman Altaf Thakur today visited Aripal-Ganai Gund area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and objected the R&B department’s proposal of widening the road stretch of Aripal-Ganai Gund stating that dozens of families will be rendered homeless if road stretch is widened from existing 25 meters to 50 meters.
Quality healthcare, better roads,Upgrading educational infra my top priority for Dadsara DDC constituency: Altaf Thakur
In a brief statement issued here, Thakur who met people of Aripal-Ganai-Gund in Tral said that that this is just 1.5 km road stretch, and he wondered as to why the R&B department is hell-bent to widen the road stretch despite the fact that it would leave dozens of families homeless. “Road stretch is already enough wide and R&B officials seem to be playing some kind of politics by advocating its further widening,” said Thakur, adding that “R&B officers, who want to further widen the road will have to face the music as after visiting the spot, I found there is no need of widening the road stretch of 1.5 kms further.”
He said that road ends at the Mountain range and there is no village after Ganai-Gund. “I urge the LG Manoj Sinha sir to look into the issue and pass directions so that road is not widened further,” he said, adding that PM Narendera Modi’s agenda is to ensure people live a happy life and not to render them homeless.
Thakur met various public delegations and got the firsthand account of problems faced by them including shortage of electricity transformers, drinking water facilities etc. Thakur assured the people of Aripal that all public issues will be resolved within the shortest possible time and governance will be taken to the doorsteps of people.
