DC Ganderbal flags off IEC vans on World Water Week

Ganderbal March 16 : To mark the celebration of World Water
Week, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today flagged off a
fleet of Information Education and Communication (IEC) vans mounted with
loud speakers from Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.
These ICE vans shall generate awareness and inspire people of the
district about the importance of water and advocate the sustainable
management of freshwater resources till culmination day which shall be
observed on World Water Day, marked on March 22 every year.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that awareness vans will go
village to village to generate awareness about the importance of water among
people and inspire them for conservation of fresh water resources besides,
several awareness activities shall be held during the week long program
including seminars, debates, road shows, etc.
Elaborating on depleting resources of fresh water, the DC said it is the
responsibility of each individual to save every drop of water not only for
himself but also for future generation.

Ganderbal, AEEs and other officials of the department were present on the
occasion.
