07 militant associates arrested in Shopian,02 Hand grenades and ammunition recovered

Srinagar, March 12: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested seven militant associates from different area in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A police officer told GNS that On intervening night of 5/6 March Shopian police arrested seven persons from different villages of shopian district.

Today late evening case Fir no 40/2021 U/S 7/25 Arms Act 18,20,13,33,38 ULAP act has been registered against the arrested persons with arms and ammunition in police station shopian.

They have been identified as Samiullah chopan son of Farooq Ahmad chopan resident of Meemender, Hilal Ahmad wani son of Mohd Amin Wani resident of Dachipora, Ramaiz Ahmad Wani son of Muzaffar Ahmad Wani resident of Dachipora, Rouf Ahmad wani son of Ab. Rashid Wani resident of Dachipora, Zahid Ahmad wani son of Bashir Ahmad wani resident of Dachipora, Faizan Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Yousuf Khan resident of Vehil, Shahid Ahmad Rather son of Mohd Iqbal Rather resident of Vehil.

The officer further said that two hand grenades and huge ammunition was recovered from their possession.(GNS)
