Jammu, Mar 9 :  The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has passed a resolution banning animal slaughtering and sale of meat in the municipal jurisdiction during the Navratra period beginning from April 13.

“The JMC would ensure strict implementation of the decision during the upcoming Navratra festival,” Mayor Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta here told UNI on Tuesday.

He said, “The resolution has been passed by the House and will get implemented from the first Navratra.”

He said that all meat shops, including slaughter houses, will remain shut during the nine-day long Navratras festival in the JMC limits.
