ILLICIT TIMBER SEIZED BY DISTRICT POLICE GANDERBAL.

Ganderbal, March 09: A large quantity of illicit timber was siezed by Police Station Gund in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Acting on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal-JKPS)
, a team of Police Station Gund led by SHO Police Station Gund INSP Lateef Ali under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri- JKPS seized a large quantity of illegally cut timber from the possesion of one accused person Riyaz Ah Bajran S/O Mohd Rafiq Bajran resident of Village Hilpati Haknar Gund.

In this regard Case FIR No. 11/2021 U/S 379 IPC, 26 IF ACT has been registered at Police Station Gund and further investigation set into motion.

Acting tough against timber smuglers, this is second time in the instant month that Ganderbal Police has registered cases and recovered large quantity of illicit timber. Speaking on the occasion SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal assured that the drive against timber smugllers will continue to ensure protection of Green Gold from the plunder.

The efforts have been highly appreciated by the General public.
