Sensex ends strong at 51,039.31 pts

Mumbai, Feb 25: Extending rally for the third straight session on Thursday, the BSE Sensex
rallied by 257.62 pts to 51,039.31 on strong global cues.
The Nifty too rose by 115.35 pts to 15,097.35.
The equity market remained positive throughout the day, as the Sensex rose by 426 pts to open at 51,207.61. It advanced by 605 pts to 51,386.12, days high before closing at 51,039.31, up by 257.62 pts from its previous close.
In sectoral indices, Oil and Gas, Metal, Utilities, Energy and Materials went up.
The scrips like ONGC, NTPC, Reliance Industries, IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank kept a tally intact today.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 51,386.12 and 50,991.76 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,176.50 and 15,065.35 pts.
The Mid Cap rose by 1.09 pc while Small Cap declined by 1.42 pc.
In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined.
