Sensex improves 7 pts to end at 49,751.41 pts

Mumbai, Feb 23 : The BSE Sensex

on Tuesday registered a small gains of 7.09 pts to 49,751.41 on fresh buying in Materials, Metal, Realty and Capital Goods stocks.
The Nifty too rose by 32.10 pts to 14,707.80.
High volatility was witnessed during the day. As the Sensex opened higher by 250 pts to 49,994.85. It was surged by 488 pts to 50,232 days high, later it came down nearly 93 pts to 49,659.85 days low and settled at 49,751.41, up by 7.09 pts from its previous close.
The sensex registered days high and low at 50,232.31 and 49,659.85 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at
14,854.50 and 14,651.85 pts.
The sectoral indices that went up were Materials, Metal, Industrials and Realty stocks. In scrips, ONGC, Indusind Bank, L& T, Ultracemco and SBI gained while Kotak Bank, Bajaj Auto, HDFC Bank and HCL Technologies were down.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.98 pc and Small Cap by 0.74 pc.
In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.
