Srinagar, Nov 2 : Amid speculation surrounding a recent gathering of National Conference legislators, Chanapora MLA Mushtaq Guroo has categorically distanced himself from any factional activity, asserting that his allegiance to the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference remains steadfast and unconditional.
In a detailed clarification, Guroo said he had attended the gathering merely on an invitation for lunch and had no prior knowledge of any political meeting or deliberations that might have taken place. He maintained that his presence should not be misconstrued as an endorsement of, or association with, any group or faction.
Reiterating his 25-year-long association with the National Conference, the legislator expressed unwavering confidence in party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, crediting their leadership, guidance and trust for his political standing and public recognition.

Describing the NC as his political home, identity and ideological commitment, Guroo said his association with the party was founded on conviction, sacrifice and enduring loyalty rather than political expediency or personal considerations.
He emphatically asserted that he had no affiliation with any parallel grouping and would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the party leadership, irrespective of political circumstances.
“My loyalty is not dictated by convenience or circumstances; it is a matter of faith, honour and principle,” he maintained, reiterating that the National Conference remained his political family and that he had no intention of abandoning its leadership or ideology.
