Bandipora Police arrests drug peddler,Contraband substance recovered

January 25: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Bandipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

Officers from Police Station Hajin at a checkpoint established at Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin intercepted a person identified as Manzoor Ahmad Parray son of Abdul Aziz Parray resident of Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin. During checking, officers were able to recover 650 grams of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.07/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Hajin and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.

Budgam Police arrests two bootleggers; illicit liquor recovered

Police in Budgam have arrested two bootleggers and recovered 23 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.Officers from Police Station Khansahab at a checkpoint established at Nambalhar intercepted an Auto Rickshaw bearing registration No. JK01V-1751 with two persons on board.

They have been identified as Sheeraz Ahmed Paul son of Khazer Mohammed Paul resident of Chanpora Srinagar and Niranjan Kumar son of Parmanand Kumar resident of Shavnarayanpora Bhagalpur Bihar.

During search, officers were able to recover 23 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 06/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khanshab and investigation has been taken up.

Locals have lauded the efforts of Police and appealed to continue such drives in future as well. Police has resolved to act tough against inimical elements.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti social elements in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in anti social activities will be dealt as per law.
