Searches being conducted in several villages of south Kashmir

Srinagar: Ahead of first-ever District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir from 28 this month, goverment forces launched a massive search operation in at least six villages of south Kashmir districts.

A local newspaper Kashmir Despatch reported that search operations were conducted in several villages of south Kashmir including Nadipora Shopian by 64 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Shopain police, Yaripora Kulgam by 1 RR and Kulgam Police, Darsara Tral in Pulwama by 42 RR and Awantipora Police and K-Khalan Sirgufara by 3RR and Anantnag Police.
