Two U.S. troops killed in rocket attack in Iraq

Washington, Mar 12 : The U.S. military confirmed that two U.S. troops had been killed in a rocket attack at an Iraq base earlier in the day, U.S. media reported.
Citing U.S. officials, media reported that two U.S. soldiers and one British service member were killed in a rocket attack on Iraq’s Camp Taji, north of Baghdad, and a dozen were wounded.
A statement issued by the U.S.-led coalition force confirmed the number of casualties, adding that approximately 18 rockets struck the base.
The statement added that the Iraqi Security Forces had found a rocket-rigged truck a few miles from Camp Taji.
The deadly attack put the death toll of U.S. soldiers in Iraq to four in four days. Two U.S. marines died on March 8 during a mission to eliminate an Islamic State (IS) terrorist stronghold in a mountainous area of north-central Iraq.
Over 5,000 U.S. troops have been deployed in Iraq to support the Iraqi forces in battles against IS militants, mainly providing training and advice to the Iraqi forces.
