Two Key accused in stabbing of SFI student in University College held

Thiruvananthapuram, : Two key accused involved in stabbing of a SFI activist in the University College on Friday last were arrested in the wee hours on Monday.
Police arrested first accused Shivaranjith and second accused Nazeem from a house at Kesavadasapuram in the city at around 0200 hrs, sources said.
Three other accused, Adwait, Aaromal and Aadil were arrested on Sunday. Another accused Ijab was arrested on Saturday.
Before the arrest, a lookout notice was also issued against eight SFI leaders by the police in connection with the stabbing of SFI activist Akhil on July 12 in the College, which witnessed a series of protests against the college unit leaders of SFI for their role in instigating of violence in the campus.
In a raid, the police also seized blank answer sheets of university examinations from the house of first accused Shivaranjith and a seal of a Physical Education Director, sources added.
The media persons who reached the spot to cover the raid were also manhandled by the relatives of the accused.
In another revelation, the name of the key accused in the case, Shivaranjith and Nazeem, were figured in the Public Service Commission (PSC) Rank List of the Fourth Battalion of Officers of the Kerala Armed Police (Kasaragod).
While Shivaranjith has been named as first rank holder, Nazeem figured on the 28th position, leaving doubt on manipulation of OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) of PSC.
Following the incident, a probe is being initiated into the alleged manipulation in the rank list of PSC.
Meanwhile, Opposition parties, Congress and BJP demanded a CBI probe into the irregularities reported in the rank list of PSC.
KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran demanded a CBI probe into the allegation.
