Medical services partially affected due to strike in Kerala

Kochi,: Medical services in Kerala were partially affected on Monday due to the strike called by doctors’ organisations in protest against the assault on two junior doctors in West Bengal.
However, the emergency services in private and Government hospitals were exempted from the nation wide 24-hrs strike, which began at 0600 hrs, called by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), sources said.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA), which also extended its support to the strike, will associate with IMA’s call for a sit-in dharna in front of Kerala Rajbhavan seeking legislation to deal with attack against doctors, hospital staff and patients.
