PM reaches Varanasi to thank his voters

Varanasi, :  Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi arrived in the temple city of Varanasi on Monday morning by a special aircraft.
At the airport Mr Modi was welcomed by UP governor Ram Naik, BJP president Amit Shah and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. From airport Modi left for Kashi Vishwanath temple where he will offer special prayers. BJP president Amit Shah, UP governor and CM would also accompany him to Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Mr Modi’s arrival in Varanasi is being considered as a thanksgiving visit before taking oath of the PM for the second term on May 30. The security has been spruced up at Kashi Vishwanath temple and at Hastkala Shakul at Bara Lalpur, where the PM would be visiting.
At Hastkala Shakul at Bara Lalpur, the Varanasi MP would be addressing the party workers before leaving for New Delhi.
Mr Modi won the Varanasi parliamentary seat by a huge margin of 4,79,505 votes, defeating his nearest rival Shalini Yadav of the Samajwadi Party.
BJP’s Kashi region spokesperson Navratan Rathi said that party workers have done adequate arrangements to give a grand welcome to their leader by showering petals on his way to the Kashi Vishwanath temple and other places.
