Pant, Shikhar guide DC to six wickets victory over RR

Jaipur, Apr 22  : Riding on brilliant innings of Rishabh Pant (78 runs) and Shikhar Dhawan (54 runs), Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals by six wickets in the IPL match here at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday.
Chasing a mammoth target of 192 runs for victory, DC were off to a great start as both their openers, Dhawan and Prithvi batted freely.
Continuing his great form in the ongoing IPL season, Dhawan scored quickfire 54 runs in 27 balls before getting stumped out in the bowling of S Gopal.
DC captain S Iyer who came to bat after Dhawan’s dismissal couldn’t do much and dismissed on a score of four runs.
After Iyer departure, both P Shaw and Rishabh Pant continued to bat aggressively and stitched a crucial partnership together.
At one point of time, DC were in complete control of game but Shaw’s wicket brought some twist in the match .
However, Pant who stayed till the end took DC to the victory. He scored unbeaten 78 runs off 36 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes.
For SRH, Shreyas Gopal took 2 wickets while Dhawal Kulkarni and Riyan Parag claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, put in to bat first, Rajasthan Royals posted a total of 191/6 runs in 20 overs with the help of Rahane superb unbeaten knock of 105 runs off 63 balls .
With this win, DC moved to top of the points table with 14 points after having 7 wins in 11 matches so far in the tournament.
