Landslide kills fourteen in Colombia

Bogota, Apr 22  : At least fourteen people were killed and five others injured in a landslide in south-western Colombia, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) said.
The landslide, which was caused by heavy rains, took place in the early hours of the morning in a rural area of Rosas municipality, the agency said in a statement on Sunday, BBC reported.
According to the officials, five injured people were hospitalized and rescue were operations going on to locate survivors.
The Pan-American Highway linking Cauca with neighboring Narino was also cut off due to the landslide.
The landslide happened after days of torrential rains hit the region.
Landslides are common in the Latin American country, especially during the annual rainy season.
