ICDS Project Mandi organises awareness programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

POONCH: An awareness programme on Beti Bachao Bet Padhao was today organised by ICDS Project Mandi, here  at Higher Secondary School, Loran.

BDC chairperson, Shamim Akhter, was the chief guest on the occasion and Principal GHSS Loran, Aslam Malik  was guest of honour.

The programme was attended by teaching staff/students of the School, TSWO Mandi,  Sarpanchs, Panchs, frontline workers from ICDS,  Supervisors, Girls children and a huge gatherings of the locals.

At the onset, CDPO Mandi, Jahangir Khan delivered a detailed lecture on the need of launch of  Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, its inception and objectives. He laid emphasis on the necessity to “Save and Educate the girl Child”.

The BBBP aims to generate awareness among the public regarding importance of girl child and declining trend in child sex ratio is a major factor for women dis-empowerment at the present times, he said. He further added that it is our collective responsibility in the society to save and educate the girls.

Besides, a Colourful Cultural and poetic programme was presented on the occasion.

Lastly, appreciation certificates were given away to the  Anganwari workers and Supervisors  for best conduct of work and performance in BBBP scheme. 50 bags were also distributed among the girl students.
