37 mutton dealers booked for over-charging

Srinagar, Nov 10, KNT: Days after Divisional Administration fixed the rates of mutton, authorities have registered 37 FIR’s against mutton dealers for overcharging.

An official told news agency KNT that taking stern action against those butchers who sell meat on exorbitant rates, authorizes have booked 37 butchers and have taken action against those vegetable vendors who sell vegetables and other eatables to consumers on high rates.

“Over all a fine of Rs 70,000 was recovered from dozens of vegetable vendors,” the official said.

Director Enforcement, Mushtaq Ahmed appealed people to contact them in case they found any violation. “It is the responsibility of Mohalla and Masjid Committees to keep a vigil on those shopkeepers who loot consumers,” he said. (KNT)
