PSA detention orders of Naeem and Hilal revoked, likely to be set free

Srinagar, 18th June,: In a significant development Jammu And Kashmir UT Government on Thursday revoked Public Safety Act (PSA) detention orders against two Kashmiri politicians, People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Naeem Akhter and National Conference leader Hilal Akbar Lone.

Well placed Sources told news agency —CNS, that Jammu and Kashmir Government revoked PSA detention orders slapped on Naeem Akhter and Hilal AkbarLone, who were under detention since last year’s August 5 after Govt. of India revoked special status of J&K and bifurcated the state of J&K into two union territories.

Sources added that the orders regarding revocation of PSA will be issued shortly and both are likely to be released and sent home after a preventive detention of more than eight months.

Pertinently, J&K Govt. has revoked many PSA detention orders of several other political leaders who were under detention since last year’s August 5 move.
