DGP visits CRPF 44 Bn, HMT factory Police Housing Site, Expresses Gratitude to LG and CS

SRINAGAR, JUNE 09: Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh accompanied by SSP, Srinagar visited 44 Bn CRPF Headquarters Zainakot on outskirts of Srinagar city. The DGP was received by Commandant Dr P Shriwastva on arrival and other officers of Police and CRPF.The DGP during interaction with the officers of the 44 Bn CRPF, and Police officers of West Zone appreciated the role of officers and Jawans of CRPF in handling different situations in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the synergy between CRPF and JK Police has been appreciated across the nation.He said that the coordination between the ground level officers at cutting edge levels in Srinagar city grid has been key to our success.
He said that police and CRPF have worked shoulder to shoulder in many situations including the natural calamities. He added that both forces are on fore front of fight against the COVID-19 in the Union Territory alongwith other CAPFs.
He took a round of all the facilities of the Battalion premises, interacted with officers and other ranks of the Bn and complimented their good work and excellent maintenance and upkeep of the area which is often used for contingency requirements of the police and CAPFs.
The DGP later visited HMT factory area. SSP Srinagar Sh Haseeb Mughal gave a briefing to the DGP about the area recently allotted to Jammu Kashmir Police by the JK Government of which demarcation is done and possession taken for housing needs of JKP. Needless to say that the JKP has grown from a small strength to a big force and faces challenges of inadequate housing.
The DGP expressed his gratitude to hon’ble LG and other concerned authorities headed by the Chief Secretary for allotment of suitable chunk of land where police would plan a housing project to meet its urgent needs.
SP Operations Srinagar Shri Tahir Ashraf and SP West Srinagar Shri Shahzad Salaria were present on this occasion.
The CO of the Bn thanked DGP J&K for his visit to battalion for boosting the morale of the Personnel.
