Shatrughan Sinha demands from PM to take action against those responsible for heat stroke and AES deaths

Patna, : Senior Congress leader and former BJP MP from Patna Sahib Shatrughan Sinha today expressed his concern over large number of deaths due to heat stroke and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Bihar and demanded from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate action against those responsible for deaths.
Taking to his official Twitter account to castigate government for ‘poor’ heath infrastructure in the state, Mr Sinha said, “Honourable PM Sir! Bihar is crying! Children of our society are dying. Over 100 lives have been lost in two days due to a severe heatwave in the state. Unofficially, over 250 lives have been claimed by the heat wave across Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui and other districts”.
He said, “..45 lives have been lost in a single day! Overall scenario doesn’t look good. Don’t you think so Sir? This is a national calamity. The number of heat related deaths is likely to be higher than what has been reported. Autopsy wasn’t conducted on many of the deceased due to lack of infrastructure and healthcare in hospitals. It is alarming to learn that authorities have admitted to a lack of awareness and proactive execution in the state regarding extended heatwave conditions and required contingency plans”.
Targetting NDA government in Bihar, he said, “Despite heat action plans being shared with all districts and wards, no actions were taken to prevent heat related deaths! Bihar is already grappling with multiple public health issues like the outbreak of Acute Encephalitis that killed over 100 people, including 73 children!”
“Who are answerable for all this, Sir? People responsibile for this must be shown the exit door immediately! Sooner the better. I am sure you must’ve heard of a popular quote from Bihar – Taali Kaptaan Ko tho Gaali bhi kaptaan ko! Please don’t take it otherwise but this is a very grave situation that needs your attention”, actor-turned-politician and former union health minister quipped.
He said, “It’s time to improve Bihar’s infrastructure, provide quality medical facilities/medicines, increase patient-doctor ratio and the deceased must be given immediate relief /compensation”.
“Bihar needs you right now Sir! The people of Bihar need you to stand by them, emotionally, spiritually, and in every way possible to support and guide them to the path of recovery. Long Live Bihar! Jai Hind!”, Mr Sinha remarked while concluding his series of tweets on the issue.
