Govind Gaude highlights significance of education

Panaji, :  Goa Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude highlighted significance of education for all-round growth and development of an individual on Tuesday.
Addressing Goa Revolution Day Celebration at Kranti Maindan in Ponda, he said education was an effective medium to create a well cultured society.
Mr Gaude recalled immense contribution made by Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, a veteran freedom fighter and nationalist for the freedom struggle movement of Goa.
He said Indian constitution had given fundamental rights to every citizen and it would be a befitting tribute to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia if every citizen was aware about his /her rights.
Mr Gaude said the government was fully committed to achieve progress of the state under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Pramod sawant.
‘We are aware that people of Goa are expecting a lot from the government to fulfill their aspirations and that government will endeavor to meet their expectations,’ he said.
Freedom Fighters Association Secretary and Ex-MLA Rohidas Naik, speaking on the occasion, said the aim of Freedom Fighters Association was to create educated society. He appealed to the people of Goa to preserve Goan culture.
Earlier, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, Ex- Chief Minister and MLA Ravi Naik, Secretary of Freedom Fighters Association Rohidas Naik, Deputy Collector, Ponda, Kedar Naik and others paid tributes to the martyrs at Kranti Maidan Ponda.
