Its not against the rules to run-out non-striker if batsman leaves crease early, says MCC

London, Mar 27 : Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the arbiter of the laws of the game, has released a statement regarding India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s controversial ‘Mankad’ run-out of England’s Jos Buttler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match.
MCC on Tuesday said that it was not against the Spirit of the Game to take the bails off at the non-strike end when the batsman is starting to leave his/her crease early.
MCC’s Law 41.16 deals with the issue of a non-striker leaving his/her ground early.
