LMD market checking squads recover 1.51 lakh fine from 141 erring traders
SRINAGAR, MAY 3: The market checking squads of Legal Metrology Department conducted 1176 inspections of traders dealing with Kiryana, vegetables, fruits, masks, santizers, milk, milk products, L. P. G and other essential commodities in different parts of Kashmir Province.
The departmental squads booked 146 erring traders for overcharging on Santizers, Masks, less Weighment of purchased Vegetables, fruits, milk, milk products, non supply of L. P. G delivery after its booking and non transfer of L. P. G subsidy in the accounts of consumers.
Detecting violations, the departmental Squads imposed a fine of Rs. 1.51 lakh on spot against the erring traders under Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and Packaged Commodity Rules, 2011.
An amount of 0.72 lakh has been recovered for various violations during of sale of Masks and Sanitizers.
Pertinently, the grievances cell of the department received 52 complaints from general public through SMS, e-mail and disposed off 49 as per the aspirations of.
