SMC Urges Srinagar Residents to Cooperate in Census 2027 Exercise

Srinagar, May 14,: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has appealed to residents of the city to extend full cooperation during the forthcoming Census 2027 exercise to ensure accurate and transparent data collection for planning and development purposes.
In a public message issued through the corporation’s official social media handle, Principal Census Officer Urban Srinagar and SMC Commissioner Faz Lul Haseeb said public participation would play a crucial role in ensuring efficient conduct of the census process.
The appeal asked citizens to cooperate with officials engaged in the exercise so that reliable and updated data could be collected for administrative planning and developmental initiatives in the city.
“Appeal to all citizens of Srinagar City to extend full cooperation in the forthcoming Census 2027 exercise to ensure accurate, transparent and efficient data collection for better planning and development,” the message stated.
The statement comes as preparations gradually begin for Census 2027, which is expected to be a major nationwide administrative exercise involving extensive demographic and household data collection.
Officials said accurate census data remains important for urban planning, infrastructure development, welfare schemes, and allocation of public resources. [KNT]
