US. President Donald Trump, in his first address to the nation regarding the war with Iran, said, “Tonight, I am pleased to report that we are close to completing our fundamental strategic objectives.”
Speaking on Wednesday, President Trump stated that the United States is “near completion” of its goals in the war against Iran and praised the American military for achieving “tremendous victories” in the conflict.
He said, “Over the past four weeks, our armed forces have achieved rapid, decisive, and extraordinary victories on the battlefield victories that few have seen before.”
Trump emphasized that the U.S. will not allow its Gulf Arab allies or Israel to “suffer losses or fail” because of the war with Iran.
After 32 days of U.S. military operations, he claimed, Iran “no longer poses any real threat.” The President stated, “Thanks to our progress, I can say that we are soon on track to complete all our military objectives.”
“We will launch major attacks in the coming weeks and set them back to the Stone Age where they belong,” he added.
Trump urged countries that rely on oil from the Strait of Hormuz to “take initiative” and secure this crucial waterway.
He said, “The nations that receive oil through the Strait of Hormuz should take responsibility for its security. Just take control, protect it, and use it for yourselves.”
“We have severely weakened Iran militarily and economically. The countries that depend on the Strait of Hormuz must now ensure its protection themselves. We will help, but they must lead in safeguarding the oil they rely on heavily.”
He added, “For countries that cannot obtain fuel, many of whom refused to join this action against Iran, I have a suggestion: buy oil from the U.S., show some initiative, and take control of the Strait of Hormuz yourselves.”
Trump also thanked U.S. allies in the Middle East including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain saying, “They have been outstanding, and we will ensure they do not suffer losses or fail in any way.”
