Pakistan Drone Sighting on LoC, Army Fires to Counter Intrusion

Poonch, Feb 27,: Indian Army troops in the forward areas of Poonch district on Friday opened fire after detecting a suspected Pakistani drone near the Line of Control (LoC), security sources said.

The suspected aerial movement was observed near the Gulpur belt in Poonch, prompting troops to fire several rounds as a security response while maintaining high alert in the sensitive border sector.

Officials added that the object moved back across the LoC after the Army’s reaction, and search operations were launched in nearby forward areas to confirm no security threats remained.

Such drone sightings along the LoC and India’s borders have been reported repeatedly in recent weeks, triggering counter-unmanned aerial systems measures and heightened vigilance among security forces.

Authorities have not reported any casualties or damage resulting from the incident. Further details are awaited. [KNT]
