
Shopian, Feb 26,: The District Magistrate Shopian has ordered reopening of the Mughal Road for vehicular traffic from February 27, subject to fair weather conditions and traffic advisories.
According to an official order issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, Shopian, movement of vehicles on the Shopian to Peer Ki Gali stretch of National Highway-701A will be permitted from Feb 27 onwards, provided weather conditions remain favourable and there are no unforeseen circumstances.
The order states that traffic movement shall strictly adhere to advisories issued by the traffic police.
The Officer Commanding 52 RCC GREF, BRO has been directed to ensure that men and machinery remain in place to tackle any eventualities including landslides, avalanches and shooting stones to facilitate smooth passage of vehicles.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, ARTO Shopian and Dy SP Traffic Shopian have been instructed to deploy adequate personnel to ensure strict implementation of the order.
Authorities have advised commuters to follow official traffic updates before planning travel on the route. [KNT]
