CM rules out creation of new administrative units in Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu, Feb 07: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that the government has no plans to create new administrative units in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-who is also the Minister in charge of Revenue-said that the government has no intention of creating new administrative units in the Union Territory.

“The units which were opened have to be operationalized properly and adequately staffed. The MLAs often complain that administrative units do not have offices and facilities. Both things cannot run together,” he said, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

The Chief Minister added that these units have not yet been fully operationalised. “Our first responsibility is to make them fully operational. Thereafter, wherever gaps exist or new administrative units need to be opened, that will be considered,” he said—(KNO)
