
Rajouri, Jan 19,: A shocking incident came to light in Rajouri district late Sunday after a 45-year-old woman was found tied with a rope inside a plastic bag in an isolated area, triggering alarm among locals and prompting immediate police action.
According to police officials, the woman has been identified as Azeem Akhtar. She was discovered inside the bag along a deserted stretch in the Tandwal area of the district. The bag was first noticed by some locals, who alerted the authorities after suspecting something unusual.
Police teams rushed to the spot and rescued the woman, who was found in a serious condition. She was immediately shifted to the GMC Hospital Rajouri for urgent medical treatment, where she remains under observation.
Officials said the woman was unconscious and severely distressed at the time of rescue. Doctors at the hospital have described her condition as critical, though stable efforts are underway to improve her health.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the incident. However, they said further details will emerge only after the woman regains sufficient health to record her statement.
