Cop Dies of Cardiac Arrest at PCR Srinagar; Body of 34-Year-Old Found in Achabal Anantnag

Srinagar, Jan 15: Two separate incidents were reported from Kashmir on Thursday, including the death of a police personnel due to a suspected cardiac arrest in Srinagar and the recovery of a body in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

According to officials, a police personnel posted with the IR 6th Battalion at Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar was found unconscious in his room on Thursday. He was immediately shifted to the PCR hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Officials said the preliminary cause of death appears to be a cardiac arrest.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Barri, son of Biru Gujjar, a resident of Doda. His body has been kept at the PCR mortuary for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, in another incident, the body of a 34-year-old man was recovered from the Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Officials said the deceased was identified as Masroor Ahmad, son of Habibullah Mochi, a resident of Shelipora, Achabal.

The body was reportedly spotted by passersby, who informed the authorities. Soon after, a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police have registered a case in this regard and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of death.
