NC spokesperson Tahir Sayeed Expresses Concern Over the Harassment of Kashmiri Shawl Sellers Outside J&K

Srinagar : The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Spokesperon Tahir Sayeed has expressed grave concern over the increasing incidents of harassment and intimidation of Kashmiri shawl sellers and other Kashmiris outside Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued here, Tahir Sayeed said that communal forces in different parts of the country are continuously targeting Kashmiris, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. He warned that such disturbing incidents are fast becoming a new normal,which poses a serious threat to the safety, dignity, and livelihood of Kashmiris living, studying, and doing business outside the Valley.

The NC spokesperson urged Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take up the matter with the concerned Chief Ministers of the respective states and impress upon them the urgent need to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiris. He emphasized that the constitutional rights of Kashmiris must be protected and that no citizen should be subjected to discrimination or harassment on the basis of identity.

Tahir Sayeed appealed to the authorities to act swiftly and decisively to curb such incidents and to ensure a safe and secure environment for Kashmiris across the country.
