Srinagar, Dec 22: The weatherman on Monday said that Light rain snowfall is likely in parts of Jammu and Kashmir till Tuesday morning as another weak Western Disturbance may affect the region.
Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif Keng, who runs the popular weather channel Kashmir Weather, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner said that the recent weather pattern across Jammu and Kashmir has largely remained in line with expectations, with no snowfall recorded in the plains due to relatively higher temperatures.
Keng said that the main weather system has already moved out of the region. However, due to the influence of another Western Disturbance, there remains a possibility of light rain snowfall in some areas between this afternoon and tomorrow morning, particularly in parts of north Kashmir.
He said that if any precipitation occurs over the plains during the night hours, it may fall as snow as temperatures are expected to dip during that period.
Overall, Keng noted that weather models are not indicating any significant precipitation across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
“However, considering the moisture left behind in the atmosphere by the earlier Western Disturbance, there is still a slight chance of some activity, especially at higher reaches,” he added.
