Elderly Srinagar Native Goes Missing in Delhi, Phone Switched Off

Srinagar, Dec 5,: A 69-year-old man from Khanyar in Srinagar has gone missing in Delhi, prompting his family to issue a public appeal for assistance after multiple efforts to trace him failed. The missing man, identified as Gulam Qadir Burki, was last seen on December 2 at around 5:00 PM in Bogal Market near Kashmiri Park.

Family members said they had gone out for shopping when the incident occurred. According to them, Burki asked the others to continue ahead, assuring that he would return on his own. “Since then, we have been calling his number, but the phone remains switched off,” the family said.

They added that they immediately began searching nearby areas once they realised he could not be contacted. The relatives said that despite informing the Delhi Police and checking various locations, there has been no breakthrough in the last three days. “We have searched everywhere and informed the police, but we have not been able to trace him yet,” they stated.

The family, deeply anxious about his safety, has vehemently appealed to Delhi police to pursue the case seriously and help them in tracing him.

The family expressed hope that public cooperation will help reunite Burki with his loved ones safely. [KNT]
