Thannamandi Police Station Ranks Best in J&K, 14th Nationwide in MHA Survey

Srinagar, Dec 4,: Police Station Thannamandi in Rajouri district has been ranked the top-performing police station in Jammu and Kashmir and placed 14th at the national level in a performance survey conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Officials said the assessment covered multiple parameters, including crime control, public accessibility, grievance redressal, infrastructure, record maintenance and responsiveness to complaints. Thannamandi Police Station cleared all evaluation benchmarks laid down by the ministry, securing the highest score among police stations in the Union Territory.

According to police officials, the station maintained updated records both in physical and digital formats, with systematic documentation of crime data and investigation files playing a key role in the ranking process.

Senior officers said the outcome reflected sustained supervision and operational discipline under the jurisdiction of the Rajouri–Poonch police range.

Police officials said improved response time, resolution of public complaints and consistent ground-level monitoring contributed to the station’s high score. [KNT]
