Terrorism enemy of development, society needs to standup against terror sympathisers: LG Sinha

Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that terrorism is the enemy of development and security forces are doing their job to eliminate it and will continue to do so, but society also has a responsibility to standup against this menace.

Addressing a special convocation at Jammu university, LG Sinha, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that a collective effort is needed to fight terrorism.

He also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the Delhi blast on Monday and expressed condolences with families of victims.

“The terrorism is the enemy of development. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have long bore the brunt of terrorism, and the youth here are dreaming high. Their wings allow them to reach where the youth of the country and the world have reached,” he said.

The LG said that society also has a responsibility to stand up and those who do not rise are left behind. “Whatever narrative is created to support terrorism, it is the need of the hour to expose such people,” he said—(KNO)
