
Kishtwar, Nov 5,: The Army on Wednesday said its troops established contact with militants in the Chhatru area of Kishtwar district during an early morning operation launched jointly with Jammu and Kashmir Police.
According to the Army’s White Knight Corps, the operation was based on specific intelligence inputs. Troops from the Corps, along with J&K Police, cordoned off the suspected area and came under fire shortly after establishing contact with the militants.
The army said that roops of the White Knight Corps have established contact with militants in the general area of Chhatru. Fire has been exchanged. The operation is in progress.
Additional reinforcements have reportedly been rushed to the site, and the area remains under tight cordon. [KNT]
