DIC Shopian organises Mehfil e Mushaira cum Special Cultural programme

SHOPIAN, FEBRUARY 17: The District Information Centre, Shopian in collaboration with Kashmir Cultural Sangam, Shopian today organised a Mehfil e Mushaira cum Special Cultural programme at Malikpora, here.

The District Information Officer (DIO) Shopian, Showkat Ahmad Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Information Officer appreciated the poets and writers for taking part in Mushaira/ Special Cultural programme to present their valuable works in front of the audiences. He said their participation promotes the Kashmiri culture.

The DIO added that the need of the hour is to encourage the poets and writers to involve them to know and also adopt cultural heritage.

As many as 20 poets participated in the Mushaira/Special Cultural programme including Saqib Fahim, Javid Dilber, Shah Majid, Hilal Kohsaar, Javid Aarif, Abdul Rehman Dilber, Mohammad Qasim Sahil, Athar Hussain Balapori, Bashir Ahmed Basir, Mohammad Maqbool Shahbaz, Mhammad Ismail Veeri and others.

Athar Hussain Balapori of District Information Centre, Shopian also took part in the Mushaira and threw light and highlighted the aspects of the programme on the occasion.

Mushaira was presided over by Malik Bashir Basharat, President of Kashmir Cultural Sangam, Shopian.

The mesmerizing cultural programme was also presented by Shabir Ahmad Sheikh and his party from Keller on the occasion.
