Cylinder Blast in Kishtwar Damages a Couple of Houses, Several Injured

Kishtwar: A cylinder blast at Upper Astan in Kishtwar on Thursday sparked a fire that damaged at few houses and left several people injured.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Among them, Issrar Asif, son of Asif Iqbal of Tund Kishtwar, Fareed Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ameen of Kishtwar, Sahil, son of Gh Nabi of Kokernag, and Zahid Hussain, son of Mohammad Raheem of Astan Bhalla Kishtwar, sustained critical injuries and were referred to GMC Doda.

Others, including Yasir, son of Bashir Ahmed Najjar of Bus Stand Kishtwar, Ajaz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Abbas, Jalal Din, son of Baj Khan of Anjole Thathri, and Naseer Ahmed Bagwan, son of Khursheed Ahmed Bagwan of Bagwan Mohalla Kishtwar, were admitted at District Hospital Kishtwar with relatively normal conditions.

Fire tenders and rescue teams swiftly reached the spot and managed to control the blaze before it spread further. Authorities said the cause of the cylinder blast is being investigated. [KNT]
