Authorities Rule Out Flood Threat in Kashmir, Urge People to Stay Calm

Srinagar : Amid rising water levels in rivers following days of rainfall, authorities on Wednesday assured that there is no imminent threat of floods in Kashmir.

Officials said the situation is being closely monitored by police and civil administration, with regular assessments carried out across Srinagar and other districts. They clarified that the chances of floods remain minimal and there is no cause for panic.

“Srinagar is safe. People are advised to stay calm and not pay heed to rumors. Police and civil officials are keeping strict watch on the situation,” an official said.

The administration has, however, urged people living close to riverbanks and low-lying areas to remain cautious until water levels begin to recede fully.
