Srinagar, Jul 5,: Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Tarun Kapoor, is scheduled to arrive in Srinagar on Sunday to assess the ongoing and completed developmental works under the Smart City project in the summer capital.

Reliable sources told Kashmir News Trust that Kapoor will chair a high-level review meeting at the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) office. During his visit, he will also inspect prominent public infrastructure including the historic Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) and the newly developed riverfront along the Raj Bagh-Silk Factory Road corridor.

As part of his itinerary, Kapoor is expected to take a close look at key urban projects completed under the Smart City Mission, which aims to modernize public spaces and improve civic amenities across Srinagar.

Tarun Kapoor, a 1987-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, is known for his deep involvement in India’s energy and infrastructure policies. This marks his second tenure as an advisor in the PMO, having first been appointed to the position in May 2022. He currently handles matters related to the economy. [KNT]
