Srinagar, May 28,: People across Jammu & Kashmir are advised to prepare for a change in weather conditions, as the region is expected to witness intermittent scattered rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds this afternoon, particularly in isolated areas.

According to the latest forecasts, a more widespread and significant weather spell is set to affect the Union Territory starting from tomorrow evening (May 29) and will likely continue until May 31.

During this period, moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated across most of the plains of Jammu & Kashmir, which may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruption in daily activities.

In the higher reaches, particularly over Zojila, Sonamarg, Drass, and Kargil, moderate snowfall with isolated heavy spells is likely. These conditions may impact travel and transportation through mountain passes, and tourists and residents in these areas are urged to exercise caution. [KNT]
