Driving Skill Tests in Srinagar to Resume from April 8 After Temporary Suspension

Srinagar: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kashmir has announced the resumption of Driving Skill Tests for applicants in District Srinagar from April 8, 2025. The tests were previously cancelled due to ongoing tree-cutting work at the SRTC workshop premises, which rendered the site unsuitable for conducting the examinations.

According to a public notice issued by the RTO Kashmir, the revised schedule for the affected candidates will be communicated via SMS on their registered phone numbers. The cancellation had caused inconvenience to many applicants, but the authorities have assured that all pending tests will now be conducted smoothly.

The RTO has also requested the General Manager of JKRTC (Estates) to ensure that the tree-cutting work is completed before April 8, so that no further disruptions occur. Additionally, the Transport Commissioner of J&K and the Joint Director of Information have been informed, with a request to publish the notice through print and electronic media.

This development comes as a relief to many applicants who had been waiting for the driving tests, which are a mandatory requirement for obtaining a driving license. The RTO has urged all candidates to stay updated and follow the notifications sent to their registered numbers for further details.
