Srinagar, Feb 6 (UNI) A drug peddler was arrested by a police patrol party in Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
He said on a tip-off, a naka checking was established by a police party headed by Sub Inspector Sheikh Adil at Bemina.
He said during the naka a person with an orange colour bag was signaled to stop. However, he tried to escape but was overpowered by the naka party.
Later, banned drug Spasmodic Proxyvon over 1000 capsules were recovered from the bag.
He said in this regard FIR Number 14/2021 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Parimpora against the accused person and investigation taken up.
Locals of the area have hailed the Police action & are expecting that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in future also.
