Search Operation Continues in Hiranagar, No Contact with Militants Yet: Omar Abdullah

Jammu:  Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has stated that no contact has been established with militants in Hiranagar so far, even as security forces continue their search operation in the area.

Given Hiranagar’s proximity to the border, Abdullah suggested that the suspected militants may have infiltrated from the other side.

Addressing the broader security situation in Jammu & Kashmir, Abdullah emphasized that militancy cannot be eradicated without public cooperation. “Without taking people along, militancy in J&K won’t end,” he said, underscoring the importance of community involvement in counterterrorism efforts.

He also asserted that the presence of an elected government is playing a key role in maintaining stability. “The elected government is helping, the situation is in control, and peace prevails,” Abdullah added, reassuring that the law-and-order situation remains under check.
