Div Com Kashmir chairs meeting on repair/construction of Chanapora & Tengpora bridges

Srinagar: In order to ensure smooth plying of traffic following diversion due to repair/construction of Chanapora and Tengpora bridges, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri today virtually chaired a meeting, here.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PW R&B Central Kashmir, SSP Traffic City Srinagar and Executive Engineer Project Div. Ist R&B Srinagar, besides concerned Officers.

The meeting discussed threadbare measures to divert traffic following repair/construction of two bridges viz. Chanapora bridge and Tengpora bridge. It was given out that the traffic shall be diverted through two link roads, where the R&B department has been tasked to undertake barricading and install signages to ensure smooth and hassle free movement of traffic till repair/ construction work on bridges is completed.

The Div Com directed R&B and Traffic departments to work in coordination for smooth conduct of work for its timely completion, and start work right from today.

He further directed them that the bridges should be completed before the onset of Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2025.
