Srinagar: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway is open for traffic from both sides today, traffic police said.
“Passenger vehicles are plying from both sides on Jammu Srinagar NHW. However, HMVs plying from Srinagar towards Jammu,” the Traffic Police said.
Authorities asked commuters to follow lane discipline stating that overtaking will cause congestion. The Traffic Police urged passengers to undertake journeys on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime and avoid unnecessary halt between Ramban and Banihal “as there is apprehension of landslides and shooting” on the route the highway.
The Traffic Police said that the SSG road, Bhaderwah-Chamba Road, Mughal Road and Sinthan road are still closed for traffic.
